Llamas on Pike's Peak?

This is why I love living in Colorado Springs - the top story of the Gazette is about a llama rescued from Pike's Peak.  Apparently his mom was killed by a mountain lion and he ran away, finding his way up Pike's Peak where he flirted with Cog Railway passengers and caught a bit of frost bite.  The best part of the story, the lady that went up and rescued him now has to babysit him because his owner is on vacation for 3 weeks! 

On a sad note - they just posted something on CNN about a woman getting mauled and killed by her 350lb black bear pet.  Note to self - llamas are good pets - bears...not so much

Ladies & Gentlemen - we have a POINT!

Pete is such a proud papa! Remmi finally started pointing - hopefully meaning she is actually a bird dog and not a leaf dog(which is usually what she is more interested in chasing). Pete went and bought 4 pigeons a couple of weeks ago to train Remmi with - unfortunately, we no longer have the pigeons and two of them escaped and have probably been eaten by house cats - oops!

Instead of buying a dog house, Pete decided that it would be much more special to build one himself. 2 months later, an extra trip to buy more wood and a random pile of wood leftover later - we finally have a house for Remmi to call her own. Now - if only she would actually go in it!

Oopsie Daisy ...

So, it was inevitable ... I AM from Texas and have NEVER driven in snow before. To be quite honest, I'm suprised I made it this long. But yes, the snow finally got the best of me. This morning on my way to work I accidentally slammed on my brakes as a car in front of me was fishtailing - sending me into the ditch and the other car on his jolly way. Luckily, I was a mile from home and Pete, so he came to rescue me. I am thankful that I wasn't hurt and that I didn't hit another car. We are waiting to see the damage that I caused so cross your fingers that it is just a couple of scratches and not something serious. The cop that stopped to help me confused me by telling me that it was a "no parking zone" and then told me he was going to write me a ticket because I went OU (apparently a TX fan)! At least I got my first wreck out of the way. Hopefully I learned my lesson and will now be a snow-driving machine!

Nicole Came to Town!

After much begging and pleading, Nicole, my bff finally came to see us in Colorado! We had so much fun! It was a weekend full of laughing, drinking, movie quoting, Easter Egg dying and random song singing - although the Spice Girls CD did not surface - maybe next trip!

My New Addiction

Red Box is the greatest thing ever! We have one right by our house and have probably rented 5 movies a week for the past 3 weeks! I am so excited for all of the movies that are about to be released - today Slumdog Millionaire and Seven Pounds come out! Last night we rented Bolt (not my favorite).  I was so disappointed, there have been such great animated movies lately like Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar 2 and Horton Hears a Who, but this one was no so great.  And, once I realized it was Miley Cyrus' voice, it made me hate it more.  Oh well, it was a Monday free rental!
